Reference Chat

UC Hastings Chat Reference is available to take questions during Reference Desk hours. This service is intended primarily for UC Hastings students, faculty, and staff. If you are not affiliated with UC Hastings, we will reply to your inquiry only if it relates to a resource unique to the Law Library. Questions requiring in-depth knowledge of a subject or resource may be referred to an appropriate subject specialist, who will contact you directly. 

UC Hastings Chat Reference questions are answered by the law librarians at the Reference Desk.  Questions asked in person at the Reference Desk have priority over questions asked through chat. If the Chat dialogue box indicates that a librarian is available but you don't receive an immediate response to your question, try again in a few minutes.  

The UC Hastings Law Library may save the transcript of your chat session for educational and research purposes only.
