UC Hastings provides a secure wireless network in support of UC Hastings official activities and functions. Free access is provided for all UC Hastings staff, faculty and students, alumni, and attendees at UC Hastings functions and events sponsored by departments, journals, centers and other Hastings entities. Alumni access is provided through the UC Hastings Alumni Office. Any individuals in those categories who do not currently hold a UC Hastings network account will be provided wireless access after signing a Network Security agreement.

All others who use the UC Hastings Law Library can access the catalog and subscription databases through public terminals in the Library. These terminals do not have web browsing capability. Visitors may save digital content found through library databases at a public terminal to a personal storage device.

This policy is in force in order to maintain the status of the UC Hastings computer network as a private network for the purposes of compliance with the FCC Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (“CALEA”).
