Nations resolutions at the Hastings College of the
Law Library. It includes information about finding aids, indexes, and
sources containing the full-texts of resolutions.
General
Assembly Resolutions
PRINT RESOURCES:
Resolutions
and Decisions Adopted by the General Assembly.

The library has 1946 (1st session) through the most recently published session.
This annual publication contains the texts of the resolutions of the General
Assembly, an index by agenda item, a checklist of resolutions and decisions,
and a list of references to conventions. The UN has published a cumulative
index, The Index to Resolutions of the General Assembly 1946-1970

The library has volumes 1-24 (1946-1986). This compilation is useful for
locating older UN resolutions. In addition to the texts of resolutions,
it includes voting records and a topical index.
Yearbook
of the United Nations.

The UN began publishing this annual yearbook in 1946. The library has
all published volumes. It contains a summary of UN activities and contains
the full text of selected resolutions. Each volume is arranged by subject
categories. Each volume contains a subject index, a separate index of
resolutions and decisions (since 1975), and voting records on resolutions.
This resource is not as useful for very recent resolutions, because there
is a two to three year time lag in the yearbook's publication.

General Assembly Resolutions on Microfiche.
Micrographics
The library has a microfiche collection of all General Assembly resolutions
issued since the first session in 1946. The resolutions from the 1st through
35th session are in cabinet #29, and the resolutions from the 36th through
current session are in cabinets #29-33. A list of the resolutions and
other UN documents is kept on top of these microfiche cabinets. The resolutions
are arranged in chronological order and filed by document number, which
will look something like A/RES/(session#)/. A comprehensive index to this
microfiche is available on CD-ROM (see next entry).

resolutions issued since the first session in 1946. The resolutions for
the years 1946 through 1980 are all kept together in cabinet #29, while
the resolutions for the years 1981 through the current session are interfiled
by year in cabinets #29-33. A list of the resolutions and other UN documents
is kept on top of these microfiche cabinets. The resolutions are arranged
in chronological order and filed by document number, however, Economic
and Social Council resolutions can be a little tricky to find because
the are typically issued as documents from one of the plenary meetings.

The resolutions for the years 1947 through 1980 are kept together in cabinet
#29, while the resolutions for the years 1981 through 1994 are interfiled
by year in cabinets #29-31. A list of the resolutions and other Trusteeship
Council documents is kept on top of these microfiche cabinets. The resolutions
are arranged in chronological order and filed by document number, however,
Trusteeship Council resolutions are issued as Supplement no. 1 of the
Official Records of the Trusteeship Council with its general documents
series. A comprehensive index to this microfiche is available on CD-ROM
(see next entry).
