Library Computer Resources & Network Access

The library's student computer lab at Hastings is located in the 200 building on the 4th Floor. For questions about the Computer lab contact Charles Cotner, Computer Services Assistant at 565-4767 or by email at . For questions about other campus computer resources contact the Hastings IT Department. If you need further computer assistance, IT also offers weekly drop-in sessions for students on Tuesdays, 3:30 to 4:30pm in the Computer Lab.

The Hastings computer lab is in the library, but access is controlled by a current barcoded Hastings ID. Only Hastings students, faculty, and staff are allowed access to the computer lab. Attorneys, alumni, and the general public are not allowed in the computer lab. Likewise, there is no public access to the Hastings wireless network in the library. 3Ls who have graduated may access the Computer Lab and wireless network during the Summer immediately following graduation until the start of Fall classes.

Students may wish to connect to the Hastings network while in the library. Network access allows students to connect to the Internet and the Hastings Intranet. This provides access to web-based e-mail and useful library webpages, such as the exams database and various online subscriptions. In the library, Hastings students can access the Hastings network in two ways:

. library computers
. wireless network

LIBRARY COMPUTERS

The Computer Lab is open during regular library hours. The Computer lab has 50 computers running the Windows XP opersating system for student use. These computers offer Internet and Intranet access, word processing, office applications, and other software. Some of the computers are attached to laser printers, which can be used with a purchased copy card. Students may also use the printers with their own laptops via a USB connection. The Computer Lab also has two high-speed scanners.
