First Year Legal Research Resources
Photographic Field Guide to the Law Library - Adam Engelhart, a recent Hastings alumnus, created a webpage with pictures of all of the "principal legal reference works for 1Ls in the Hastings library, along with short descriptions and Bluebook citation rules."
Power Outlets in the Library - Many of the tables in the library have built-in power outlets. Some power outlets are in the floor, just below the tables. Power outlets can also be found in the study rooms and near the columns by the windows. Additional power outlets have been installed in the 4th Floor Reading Room in response to student requests. Although there are now plenty of outlets available for the window seats, they are not so easy to find (see photos). Look between the window and the back edge of the counter for these outlets.
Printing and Photocopying in the Library
Research Guides - guides to researching topics related to California law, Federal law, International and Foreign law, State and Local law, and Topical issues
Research Strategies for Writing Seminars - This page was created by the library to help Hastings students with their research needs. The links will help you access the materials you need when researching your paper topic.
Study Rooms - Information about the 18 study rooms in the 200 McAllister Street library.
