Library Computer Resources & Network Access
The library's computer lab for Hastings students is located in the 200 McAllister building on the 4th Floor. For questions about the wireless network, network connection issues, Hastings email, WebAdvisor, ExamSoft, and other campus computer resources contact the Hastings IT Department.
The Hastings computer lab is in the library, but access is controlled by a barcoded Hastings ID card. Only Hastings students, faculty, and staff are allowed access to the computer lab. Attorneys, alumni, and the general public are not allowed in the computer lab.
There is no public access to the Hastings wireless network in the library. Hastings Alumni may use the wireless network by contacting the Alumni Center.
Students may wish to connect to the Hastings network while in the library. Network access allows students to connect to the Internet. This provides access to web-based e-mail and useful library webpages, such as the exams database and various online subscriptions. In the library, Hastings students can access the Hastings wireless network through their notebook computers.
LIBRARY COMPUTERS
The computer lab is open during regular library hours. The computer lab has 55 computers running the Windows XP operating system for student use. Users on these computers can enjoy multimedia, browse the Internet, access the Microsoft Office 2007 product suite and author DVDs. All of these computers are equiped to print to Hastings public networked printers.
The computer lab also has a high resolution projector for presentations as well as two high-speed scanners.

WIRELESS NETWORK
Hastings students with a notebook computer with a wireless card can connect to the Hastings network and get access to the Internet from anywhere in the library. Wireless network access is also available from many other locations on campus.
If you need assistance configuring your computer to access the wireless network, contact the Information Technology (IT) help desk at (415) 581- 8802.
