UC Hastings alumni are welcome to use the Law Library whenever it is open (including evening and weekend hours). All library patrons are required to sign in at the first-floor Security Desk. After showing appropriate ID, you will be issued a visitor pass good for the day. During the academic year, group study rooms are for student use only.
Alumni are encouraged to take advantage of the Reference Librarians' expertise! Feel free to call or stop by the Reference Desk with your research questions. The Reference Librarians can help you formulate your search strategy and point you toward relevant resources available in the library and online. And don't forget the wealth of information available on the Library website, including our research guides and links to free online resources.
Alumni may apply for library borrowing privileges. Unaffiliated Borrower application forms are available here and at the Library Circulation Desk. Applications for borrowing privileges require a refundable deposit of $100 for UC Hastings alumni and require ten working days to process.
The Library subscribes to numerous research databases, including HeinOnline, ProQuest Journals, and several BNA libraries, which alumni are free to use while on-campus. Please stop by the Reference Desk for help using them.
Alumni may obtain login credentials for accessing the College's wi-fi network from the UC Hastings Alumni Office. Alumni are welcome to use the Library's public terminals (with access to the Library's catalog and databases) anytime.
Alumni and other public patrons may use any of the Library's multifunction printers/photocopiers by setting up an account online or through the UC Hastings Business Center, located on the first floor of the 200 McAllister building. Patrons making photocopies may also use the coin-operated machine on the fourth floor of the Library.
