The Library offers two for-credit courses in legal research: International and Foreign Legal Research, a 2-unit non-GPA course taught in the fall, and California Legal Research, a 1-unit non-GPA course offered in the spring. In addition, the Law School offers a 3-unit GPA course on Advanced Legal Research and Analysis. The Library also provides subject-specific, in-class research training for UC Hastings courses, seminars and clinics. For more information, follow the links below.
In addition to offering classroom trainings, the Library has created videocasts and podcasts on specific legal research topics, such as Shepardizing in Lexis or using the key number system in Westlaw, which students are encouraged to review on their own.
