Hastings faculty, staff and students with a wireless card can connect to the Hastings wireless network (802.11b/g WiFi) and get access to the Internet from anywhere in the library. Wireless network access is also available from many other locations on campus.
For more information on setting up and accessing the wireless network, please see the IT Wireless Information page. If you need further assistance configuring your computer to access the wireless network, contact the Information Technology help desk at (415) 581- 8802.
On-campus guests may use the "HastingsGuest" wireless network to access the Internet. When connecting to the HastingsGuest wireless network, users will be prompted to accept the UC Hastings Acceptable Use Policy.
Most of the study tables in the Library have power outlets available for students. Power outlets can also be found in the study rooms and in the window seating at the columns. Additional power outlets are located in the 4th Floor Reading Room by the McAllister Street window. They are located between the window and the back edge of the counter (see photo below).
The school used to have separate Lexis and Westlaw labs in the library. Currently, all Lexis and Westlaw guides, printers and printouts can be found in the 4th floor computer lab.
The Computer Lab is maintained by Information Technology. The Computer Lab is open during regular library hours, and the IT Help Desk can be found there. The Help Desk operates from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information, contact the IT Department. The Help Desk is available for questions about computer issues or about printing in the computer lab.
